A few years ago, sculptor Stephen Weiss, late husband of Donna Karan, had a house built on the adjoining property to the couple’s existing compound in East Hampton overlooking the Bay Shore of Long Island.
Bonetti-Kozerski Studio was hired by the couple to design and furnish the interior and landscape in the same aesthetic and lifestyle as the other residences and stores they have designed for Donna Karan. The house, used mainly for meditation and yoga, features large sliding windows that open to the decks, gardens and the sea.
The landscape was designed with relaxation and meditation in mind and indulges the calming and soothing views of the bay: selected pieces of furniture are placed around the property as if standing inside a large outdoor living room.
The old house where the guest rooms are located has been connected to the new house with an elevated wood walkway that connects the two pool decks through a group of trees.
