Located on Conduit Street, in London’s Mayfair shopping district, adapting the Donna Karan concept into an historical 18th century townhouse.
The brick and stucco front façade that has been restored is balanced by the modern installations on the ground floor. At the rear of the ground floor a garden was reinstated while feature walls are clad in a bronze metal “wallpaper” that was developed for the project.
The heart of the townhouse, the stairwell, has been refurbished. The limestone treads and historic molding juxtapose with new highly polished plaster walls. At the landing a fragrance and jewelry display room was carved out of a former service space while throughout the store, the fixtures are made of a combination of dark stained solid wood that has been hand worked and natural brass that will patina naturally over time.
